Eco Lodge, Jordan
TUTOR STAFF AND GUIDES AT AN ENCHANTING ECO LODGE IN THE DESERT OF JORDAN
Imagine living in a stunning, solar powered ecolodge in the deser
t of Jordan. No electricity. No phones. Night-time is lit by candles and the stars.
This is a great programme for people who want a unique experience that includes NO ELECTRICITY (everything is solar powered). The project site is approximately 3 1/2 hours from Amman and an hour + from Petra and the Dead Sea. Plus you have two excursions included that go off site of the Ecolodge. Visit the Dead Sea Area and a day trip to Petra. And all treks that are available on site are available to participants also!
This is a high-energy and really fun position. We provide the materials; you provide the personality to liven up an informal conversation class! Find out first-hand about the lives of Bedouins while you live and work day-to-day. Sometimes there are opportunities to take part in activities. PLUS the locals can show you some hidden gems of Jordan.
Overview
The Need: Tutor English to the local workers, mainly Bedouins. In less than 15 hours each week, you can tutor staff and guides at the lodge to help improve their conversational English skills. The rest of the time you can enjoy treks through canyons and water falls, or archeological copper mine treks. You don't want to miss Petra and the Dead Sea.
Benefits:
- Travel for less.
- You put in a couple of hours each day literally talking, and the rest of your time is spent traveling and experiencing the culture in depth.
- Tip the advantage to you by enhancing your C.V. by volunteering with the Conversation Partner. Job: "Private Language Tutor." References: Global. It just doesn't get any better than that.
- Exclusive materials will give you "a bag of tricks" as you engage the staff and guides.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Sharing your language with staff and guides up to 15 hours/week.
- Using your Bag of Tricks, provide creative, fun and informative language sessions.
- Be on time to tutor your group.
- Manage your own personal expenses (telephone bills, clothing, entertainment and spending money).
