Children's Hospital in Costa Rica

HELP A CHILD HAVE A MORE POSITIVE EXPERIENCE WHILE IN THE CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL

CVolunteers in Costa Ricaosta Rica is a beautiful, developing nation known for its environmental protection and innovation. From the rainforests of the interior to the sprawling Caribbean beaches of its coasts, it is rapidly becoming a destination for travellers around the world.

Volunteers on this programme can help make children’s stays in the hospital more pleasant.  Whether through recreation, assistance, or just company, children welcome the volunteers’ presence.  To help to accomplish this, volunteers should have the following:

  • Enjoyment of working with children
  • Fantastic interpersonal skills with the patients, parents, employees and the rest of the members of the hospital community
  • A special charisma for dealing with people who need special treatment and sensitivity for the conditions and afflictions of the children at the hospital.

Volunteer Activities May Include:

  • Assisting doctors and nurses in care of children
  • Helping with patient’s therapy and recreation
  • Keep children company during their stay at the hospital
