Galapagos Islands Hospital
Learn about the Ecuadorian health care system while assisting in various areas, based on your knowledge and experience. Be a part of the facilitation and running of daily programmes for patients. This hospital has an emergency service, general surgery as well as specialists.
San Cristobal has a population of approximately 6500 people. 90% (approximately) have received care from this hospital. The location is one of a kind! You can swim, scuba dive, surf, bask on the beach, see marine life, exotic birds, and even tortoises.
As a volunteer it is possible to:
- Work one to one with doctors;
- Prepare charts for patients;
- Hand out medication;
- Assist in medical examinations;
- There may be more independent jobs throughout the hospital, based on individuals' work history.
