Hosts That Go the Extra Mile… Literally!
When we say our hosts go the extra mile, we don’t just mean in spirit. Recently, David from Southport proved exactly that. He took three School Cultural Exchange students on a six-mile walking adventure through the stunning Lake District, ending in the picturesque village of Grasmere.
The journey was as memorable as it was scenic. With towering fells rising around them, lakes sparkling and the crisp Lakeland air filling their lungs, the students were immersed in a truly unforgettable cultural experience. The views were so incredible that two of them couldn’t resist video-calling their families—sharing the breathtaking panorama in real time!
Of course, the trek wasn’t without its challenges. By the end, tired legs told the story, and the drive home offered plenty of time for reflection (and maybe a few wobbly knees). But David’s verdict says it all: “We had a fab time.”
Hosts like David truly enrich the exchange experience. Their dedication, enthusiasm, and willingness to go above and beyond—whether it’s a short walk or a six-mile hike—ensure every student leaves with unforgettable memories.
