Free Wills Month – October 2026
October is free will-writing month and we have teamed up with Farewill, an award-winning charity partner, to offer hosts and other EIL UK volunteers free help and guidance to write your own will.
This can be done online or, if you prefer to speak to a specialist, you can call Farewill and a member of their team will guide you through the process.
To make your free will online, click the button below. If you prefer to speak to a Farewill specialist over the phone call 020 8050 2686. Remember to quote EIL UK as your charity to make sure you get the free service. There is no obligation to make a gift to EIL or another charity.
What to expect when you go online or call Farewill
The online Will-writing procedure is simple and can be completed in around 20 minutes, assuming you have no complex needs which need to be discussed.
We encourage you to look after members of your family first. Before you start the process, you may find it helpful to think about what you would like, as you will be asked to include information such as:
- who do you want to appoint as guardians for your children (if they are young)
- how you want to divide up your estate
- who would you like to be executors for your will
- details of any gifts you would like to leave
- details about your funeral wishes, if you want to include these.
When you complete the online Will-making process, or finish speaking to an adviser, Farewill will email you your Will document so that you can view or download it to check the contents.
Once you are happy with your Will, you simply need to print and sign it alongside two witnesses. Farewill explain all the steps on their website and guide you through the process.
Not sure whether you need a will?
We understand that some people may need a little more information before they’re ready to take action. To help with that, we’d like to invite anyone interested to a free, open webinar on Friday 30 October at 12pm-1pm led by Farewill’s Legal Counsel, Rourke Bulbring.
The webinar will focus on some of the common questions and misconceptions that can prevent people from writing a will, why having one matters at different ages and stages of life, and what supporters can expect from Farewill’s online and telephone services. This will be an educational introduction to wills and will writing, designed to make the subject feel relevant, accessible and easier to understand.
