Changing Minds – conflict resolution and social cohesion training
Investing in local young people and local communities
The aim of this course is to bring young people together to explore and learn about each other’s lives through workshops, debates and community visits, with the aim of dispelling cultural misunderstandings and developing knowledge and skills to make changes in their own communities. They will be proposed, supported and mentored by professionals who are already engaged in social cohesion work and conflict resolution.
In the light of recent events and tensions relating to race and ethnic minorities, there is a great need to develop intercultural competencies to help young people to make changes within their own communities.
Using the knowledge and experience of local community leaders, peace building and conflict resolution experts, the project will explore successful strategies already implemented across the UK.
This will help to equip the participants with the knowledge, skills and creative thinking needed to promote & develop sustainable community cohesion programmes in their own community.
